Didn’t like that new movie? Can’t quite put your finger on why that latest drama is the best thing you’ve ever seen? Hopefully, there’s something here to help you explain why with all the pomp and certainty as if you studied a degree in being right all the time.

With any luck, that’s exactly what this website (and by extension, me) can offer. As a script editor, it’s my job to help writers understand the truth behind the issues with their screenplays and theatre scripts. The world is full of strong opinions about WHY a thing is wrong, but nobody is offering any viable solutions.

Solutions that are offered often only treat the symptoms. Spend a lifetime treating the symptoms, in time the entire cinema and High End TV ecosystem will collapse. The answers are, and always have been, on the page.

Storytelling is changing. Cinematic Universes aren’t just for Super Heroes, video games aren’t just for shooting things, and the elite are turning their backs on theatre.

So, join me as we explore this new frontier together, never taking it seriously for a second.

As of February 2025, I’m officially a writer!

As a graduate with two (count them, two!) writing degrees, I’m looking to take that next logical step in my career:

Stop paying to write, and start getting paid to do it.

To do that, I am of course working for free to build my portfolio of work.

To build that portfolio, I need your help.

Do you need feedback on a script? Perhaps you’re having issues building a story bible, or maybe you need someone to explain what a story bible is. Either way, I’m your man.

I’m offering professional reports on your script for screen or stage, along with light collaboration to help you build the best story you can.

All I ask in return is some credit and an iced vanilla latte with coconut milk (large).
